BULLETIN BOARD

WOMEN’S CLUB OF GREATER LAKEWAY

May/June– 2008 – Bulletin Board

PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE:

You know the old saying "Time Flies When You’re Having Fun." This year has flown by and thanks to all of you; it has been not only fun but one of my most memorable years. I want to thank each of you for allowing me the privilege of serving as your President for the past year. Also, I wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Board. Working with these outstanding ladies who give 100 percent of their time and energy has been such a rewarding experience.

This year will not come to a close without a Grand Finale. Debbie Snetzer and her outstanding committee are working to make our Installation Luncheon a day to remember. It will be held on May 19 in the Vistas Ballroom of the Lakeway Resort & Spa. Starting at 9:30 a.m. you will have an opportunity to sign up for the Special Interest Groups. The meeting followed by the luncheon will start at 10:30 a.m. This is always a very special event and you will not want to miss it this year.

The following officers will be installed at our May Luncheon:

President: Julianne DeBower

1st Vice President: Janet Eaddy

2nd Vice President: Jody Berry

Treasurer: Ernie Clay

Corresponding Secretary: Kathy Wilson

Recording Secretary: Sharon January

Once again I wish to thank each of you for giving me the honor of serving as your President. The Women’s Club is an organization that supports and enhances the Lakeway community and I am so thankful to be a part of it.

See you at the Installation Luncheon on May 19.

Lana Brown, President

KUDOS AND MANY THANKS TO

Ernie Clay and the performers of the Sing Along Chorus who honored our local World War II veterans with a fantastic USO Show.

Margie Neuenschwander who put her heart and soul into her position as Community Liaison. Thanks to Margie’s dedication and y our generosity, we will be giving two LTHS students each a scholarship of $2,150.

Special Interest Group Chairmen who are the heart of the WCGL. Thank you for your tireless effort and your willingness to serve.

My wonderful Board Members who have worked diligently to support the Women’s Club. Thanks to each of you for your time, talent, and most of all, your friendship.

MEMBERSHIP NEWS:

As of April 7th, our current membership is 528.

I wish I could understand why it is not higher.

Checks are starting to come in for the 2008-2009 dues.  I will hold those checks until June 1st, after Karen closes her report for 2007, and have a new list for the upcoming Treasurer for 2008.  I will continue to accept checks for  $25.00, payable to WCGL for the upcoming year, because the May Installation Luncheon dues line gets rather hectic!  I will give an accounting of all this to the upcoming membership chairman.

If you have any questions about membership, please do not hesitate to call me.  261-3338
