OUT TO LUNCH BUNCH Come join the fun with the next Out-to-Lunch Bunch at noon, Friday, May 23. NEWCOMERS EXPLORER GROUP Beginning in May the Explorers’ Group will meet on the Third Monday of each month. Our Monday, May 19 outing will be a trip to the State Capital Building. 9 a.m. meet at the Lakeway Activity Center parking lot Admission – Free Parking at the Capitol – Free for the first two hours Lunch at one of the nearby restaurants. MAY HIKING Friday, May 9 - Leave from the Lakeway Activity Center at 9 a.m. We will hike McKinney Roughs, an LCRA park with miles of trails along the Colorado River. We will hike 4 to 5 miles. Bring water and a picnic lunch to eat at the park after the hike. McKinney Roughs is located on Texas 71 13.2 miles east of Austin Bergstrom Airport. The groups choose a different restaurant each month. The current groups have been mixed so as to meet new people. Six groups of 68 folks are now enjoying good food and companionship. We will be leaving by bus from Lakeway – arriving in plenty of time to settle in before the game. Price includes transportation as well as a Reserved Box Seat. As a special bonus, it is "Thirsty Thursday" at the ballpark! Cost is $22 per person. We will be leaving by bus from the Lakeway Activity Center and we will be delivered to the game at Del Diamond. TIME: Boarding will begin at 5:30 p.m. from the Lakeway Activity Center. Bus will leave promptly at 5:45 p.m. Please park at the far end of the lot away from the building. PRICE: $22 per person – includes transportation as well as a Reserved Box Seat Ticket. NEWCOMERS EXPLORER GROUP The Explorer’s Group Outing will be to The Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum Date: June 16, 2008 - Time: 8:45 a.m. Place: Meet at the Lakeway Activity Center Parking Lot in the back. Admission: Adults, $10 and Seniors over 64, $8. The IMAX movie "Texas the Big Picture" starts at 10 a.m., so let’s meet at 8:45 a.m. to make sure we get there on time. There will be a special exhibit about the television show "Dallas." (Dallas: Power and Passion on Primetime TV) Parking: o There is a pre-pay charge of $8 at the garage. The fee covers full day parking (no re-entry).o Visitors to the Museum will receive a $2 rebate when they purchase Museum and/or Theater tickets, a Membership, or make a $5 purchase in the Museum Store, provided that they present the cashier with their parking ticket.
