In 1997, the Lakeway Civic Corporation formed the Lakeway Community Foundation, providing the means for citizens wishing to donate money to be used for civic purposes. Jack and Myrtle Hamilton donated the land now known as Hamilton Greenbelts I and II, and funds for the maintenance of these greenbelts. The Community Foundation oversees the investment of those donated funds and their use. Coleman and Mary Smith also donated land for a Lakeway greenbelt through the Community Foundation.

The Lakeway Community Foundation is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) entity for federal tax purposes, qualifying it for tax deductible gifts and bequests. For more information, call The Lakeway Community Foundation at 261-5203.
