The support group is sanctioned by the Alzheimer's Association--Austin
Chapter. The purpose of the group is to provide an opportunity for family members, friends,
caregivers and other interested individuals to meet regularly for mutual emotional support and to exchange
coping skills and other information with one another in matters relating to Alzheimer's and other related
diseases. The support group:
* Creates a safe, confidential, supportive environment,
* Educates and informs,
* Develops methods and skills to solve problems,
* Encourages participants to maintain personal, physical and
emotional health and
* Allows for personal growth and development.
