November 21 - Kick-off the Holiday, Holiday Ball at the Lakeway Spa and Resort.


Purpose of the Organization

The purpose of GLRA is to enhance and contribute to the efforts to make the City of Lakeway, The Village of the Hills, and their respective Extra Territorial Jurisdictions a model community.  The Association will actively pursue this purpose by: 

         a. Developing and disseminating timely and factual information on matters of concern to its members.

         b. Publishing periodically a newspaper, newsletter or a news magazine.

         c. Lending support to the officials of Greater Lakeway in their efforts to make Greater Lakeway a model community.

         d. Initiating and sponsoring recreational and social groups for the benefit of its members.  (See social opportunities below)

         e. On a non political basis, represent members concerns.

         f. Enhancing communications by organizing and conducting meetings for the purpose of explaining existing circumstances.

         g. Organizing social functions for the benefit of its members.

What Activity Groups do we Sponsor?

Bridge groups, Golf Group, Newcomers Alumni Group, Lakeway Play Group, Spanish Club (free Spanish lessons for GLRA members), the Library at the Lakeway Activity Center.  We try to inspire new activity groups and have helped groups such as Newcomers, Wine Club, Travel Group, and Lakeway / Hills Solos get started.

What Events do we Sponsor?

Town Hall Meetings, Meet the Candidates Night, Info Fair, Golf Tournaments and Holiday Ball.

Publications

 “Homeowners News” is a monthly news magazine, published by GLRA, contains articles of local interest to members. “Homeowners News” replaces formally published by Homeowners Association of Greater Lakeway.

“GREATER LAKEWAY - A GUIDE FOR NEW RESIDENTS” provides new residents useful information about local government, schools, utilities, clubs, organizations, emergency phone numbers, churches, parks, sports facilities etc.  It also contains a history of Lakeway by Byron Varner.

GLRA Membership Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for membership you must be a resident homeowner of Greater Lakeway or a non-resident homeowner who has a home in Greater Lakeway or rent or lease a home in the Lakeway area and are eligible to vote in local elections and those who own property within Greater Lakeway. Those who meet any of the aforementioned criteria shall become a member upon payment of the current year’s dues.
